RACE to Green

We aim to improve the planting around Ringwood over the next few years, not just to make it pretty but also to improve habitats and room for pollinators.  We are starting with the Gateway area, Pocket park and Jubilee Gardens.

Can you spot our willow dragonflies?

So far 17 tonnes of compost and over 9 tonnes of mulch have been added to the beds outside Gateway, over 1,400 bulbs and numerous other species have been planted. You may have noticed that the foxgloves are back. Look out for the ferns, geraniums, verbena and grasses.

At Pocket Park Dogwood,  Bluebells and a whole new pollinator area have been created.

In Jubilee Gardens the 2 new raised beds have been planted with donated items that will replace the annuals and provide a better habitat for insects

You may also have noticed that the Ringwood Carnival planters around the town have been replanted with perennials and the roundabout in the car park has verbena and grasses that require significantly less watering and provide improved habitats.

Look out for the willow dragonflies around town, they are a sign that we have been planting!!
